Featured Staffer – Cindy Schneider

Hello. Happy Friday again! This week, I bring to you our featured Staffer for January. It is none other than the very talented and creative Cindy Schneider (aka cindys732003)! I am so please to know her through my Babe-dom and Sweet Shoppe Designs. Cindy is not only talented, she is a very sweet person, too.

CSchneiderHere are the Basics. Cindy has been scrapping since the Spring of 2006 and uses PhotoShop CS2. Her most complete gallery is a DigiShopTalk and can be found here. Make sure you check out all 52 page of her amazing gallery! You will not be disappointed – from her cute layouts of her kids to the wonderful journaling and the layering of paper and embellies. It is a delight for the eyes.

I also asked Cindy some other very pressing questions:
Q. What was the title on your very first layout?
I think it was “Flower Girl”, and had pictures of my daughter with some petunias she picked in the backyard.  It has been long since re-scrapped though!

Q. Are you a fast scrapper or do you take several hours or days to work on a layout?
It depends, some pages come together quicker than others.  On average it probably takes anywhere from 1-2 hours, but it’s hard to tell because sometimes I have more than one page going at once, or I don’t sit down and scrap a layout from start to finish because there are always distractions!

Q. You rock at titlework..does it come easily to you or is it something you spend a great deal of time on?
I don’t spend a ton of time on titlework, but I love to do it.  My pages always seem bare to me if there is no title on them, so I always try to include one.  I generally leave the titlework until last and keep in mind where I want the title to go while I am scrapping the page.  I love to mix and match alphas.

Q. Describe the process for creating a layout for you? You use so many layers and items from other designers and can pull them into one layout so effortlessly. How do you do it?
To create a page, I always open up my photos first for inspiration and I have a kit picked out that I want to use.  I open up all of the papers and elements that I love from the particular kit and drag them onto one page with the photos, kind of like a messy “preview”.  I then open up another new page, bring my photos over, figure out the photo placement I want to use and go from there.  Generally when I bring in other elements from other kits, I do that near the end if I see my page needs a certain tied ribbon, button etc, then I will go search my stash and bring it in.  Sometimes if the LO is not working at all, I will just start again from scratch.  This is probably all a very unconventional process, but it works well for me!

Q. If you could only use one SSD kit from now on what would it be?
