Hot 4 Hybrid Wednesday 1/27/10

Welcome to Hot 4 Hybrid Wednesday! It’s time to get out your adhesive, glitter, and other paper crafting supplies!

With Valentine’s day coming up soon, I am thinking about Valentine treats to give to my family and friends. Last Halloween I put together some pixy stix holders that I made from some recycled paper folders. I used this project as inspiration to make a pocket holder for some Valentine lollipops.

Heather Roselli’s Love Me Do kit is perfect for some fun Valentine elements for this project.

I opened a blank file (8″ x 10 1/2″ is the size I use to ensure everything will print out on my printer) and put together images to use for punched elements and also a patterned paper that I wanted to use.

After I printed out my file, it’s time to punch. I punched the red heart image out with a 1 3/4″ circle punch and the blue heart image witha 1 1/4″ circle punch.

Next, I cut my file folders to create the pocket bases. See my post over on my blog here for a tutorial on making the pocket bases. All of the measurements are the same, except instead of making the pockets 2″ wide, I made them 2 1/2″ wide for this project. I was able to get 4 pockets from one file folder using the 2 1/2″ width.

I stamped the pocket with a heart background in white ink and assembled the elements to add to the pockets. Besides the digital elements, I added punched red scallop circles and some red glittered hearts. I stitched up the sides of the pockets with my sewing machine, but you could use an adhesive to secure the sides as well.

The heart lollipops tuck perfectly into the pockets and now they are all set to give out for Valentine’s day!

Happy Hybrid crafting!
