365 Days of Bliss – Day 29

Happy Sunday! Stephanie here bringing you my first post on our new blog. I am absolutely loving this new layout and I am enjoying getting to know everyone involved in SSD just a little better.

Today is all about one of my favorite places to visit 0 NYC!

I got to go twice this year through my job. Yes, I think I have the BEST job in the world!  I just love the vibe of Times Square. I love the food! I love the buildings. The History. It’s all the little things that I love about NYC.

First off I love this Lady. The History behind her is amazing.  What these workers did with a hammer and plaster molds is amazing. I love the American dream she represents. She is the first stop when I am out to NYC.

A place where you have to be on the list to get in is the New York Stock Exchange.  The NYSE is always a stop when I am in NYC.  It’s just amazing to be on the floor.

This is Bob Pisani from CNBC. I actually got to talk to him.  Here he is with that British fellow talking stocks and bonds and the economy. On TV.  If you were watching CNBC on Friday May 20 at about 10:09 AM EST – you would have seen me on TV. Twice. I walked behind Bob and then behind him again.  Really slow.

Long gone are the little pieces of paper the NYSE traders use. They now use these heavy tablet things.

Here is looking down on the floor. Much different than how the NYSE is normally viewed.  The stock footage the news stations like to show with the traders on the floor is quite outdated.  The ringing of the bell still happens right at 9:30 AM EST, but the bickering and bartering and trading is not as wild as it used to be.

When out at NYC – we usually are able to take in a Broadway show and do some sight seeing.  I love going to NYC. I love being there, but most of all, I love returning home to my slow paced, normal life.  Sans crazy drivers and tons of honking horns.
