365 Days of Bliss – Being Thankful in the Eyes of a Child
Hello Sweet Shoppers! Stephanie here to bring you today’s Bliss – Thankful Pages. The month of November, being Thanksgiving and all that, is my month to do Thankful pages for my girls. This year – I was super excited to have a little help from a friend. Keep readin’ …
I have been doing this for about 3 years now. I get it straight from the mouths of my babes what they are thankful for that year. I do not edit, I do not comment. What I hope to do is create memories for them so that when they look back on these pages, they’ll giggle, smile and tell me “thanks.”
My oldest is Jillian. J is very conscious of other people and I think that is evident in all her Thankful Pages.
Jillian – 2009 – Age 4 – Her animals that J was talking about were her stuffed animals. In her mind at the age of 4, they were alive and her playmates. And I love her too cute smile and too big Dora hat. Love.
Jillian – 2010 – Age 5 – I must have hit her a talkative time, she had quite the list. Funny, she’s not that into cake (I thought) for her to be thankful for. A side note – she’s wearing the same hat. She just grew up.
Two things to note about my second child, Evelyn. She loves to eat and really looks up to her older sister. I learned that last year, so I try to ask E about her thankful list a few days after J or when J is not around.
Evelyn – 2009. Age 2. – Evie was not your typical two year old. She was almost 3. Her list is short and sweet and I love that. This is so her.
Evlyn – 2010 – Age 3.5 – First thing I noted, she grew up. Her baby face is going away. Second thing – I must have hit her at a talkative time. Again, food makes it in there (Mac & Cheese), but she has started to value and be thankful of people. Her list is very similar to J’s at this point. Thus, the idea to ask them separately.
Looking back in my gallery, I realize that I did one last year – kinda sorta. Okay, so it is not as elaborate as my girls and I changed that for 2011 with a little help. But here is my layout:
This all brings me to this year. I knew I was going to do this blog post about my thankful pages, I looked to someone, who in my eyes, can make a template like no other and can also rock the word art. Cindy Schneider. I went to her with my ideas and asked her to help a Babe out. She came up with this template pack, this template pack and this word art pack.
I used the template to create my Thankful 2011 page and I just love how it turned out.
I also used the word art, modified it to fit my needs (that’s the lovely thing about layers!) and created two new pages for my girls.
Jillian – 2011. Age 6. Where did my baby go? Seriously. Again, I love her thankful list. So very sweet and straight from her mouth – word for word.
Evelyn – 2011. Age 4.5. Again, a little girl. This photo screams spunky and cute and her list! She is thankful that she is four – not three or something. I think this shows that E was jonesing to go to school. She knew the magic age was 4. And she loves school (earlier points in her list).
And if you have journeyed along with me this far – here is something special for your own Thanksgiving pages – thanks to Cindy!
Enjoy! And thanks for reading.
